On the mission trip, Brian had the opportunity to work with over 150 children who have lost their hearing and take part in administering and witnessing them receive the gift of hearing, some for the very first time, at the Charolette Raceway with Richard Petty, The NRA, country music group Love and Theft, The Bald Eagle Association of America, Sam Boss, and many more companies and individuals dedicated to this great cause.

With the Starkey Foundation, also got to travel to Reverend Billy Graham’s home in Ashville, North Carolina and to the home of George Beverly Shea, to meet with and tune up their hearing devices made by Starkey Hearing. It was a life changing experience that has lead to several new developments of the 612 Companies. The Clothing That Cares Foundation is partnering with individuals, businesses, corporations, and other non-profit organizations to aggressively donate and fund raise to empower the millions of people that have less than a shirt on their back.

Twin Cities entrepreneur Brian Felsen (23), founder of 612 Clothing, submitted his application late last fall to be a vendor at the 2008 Minnesota State Fair. State Fair officials liked Felsen’s unique designs featuring a wide variety of Minnesota-inspired images and awarded him a prime outdoor location for his new booth, which in itself is an amazing 30′-long attraction. Only a few new vendors are admitted to the State Fair each year and even fewer are admitted, like Felsen, on their first attempt.

Felsen’s signature product will be the State Fair “T-shirt on-a-stick.” This high quality digitally printed 100% cotton t-shirt features a collage of Minnesota State Fair images and is folded over a stick that is also a 9″x9″ high-quality fan, a useful value-added product for those sultry late summer days. 612′s collection of clothing also features 18 varieties of colorful t-shirts and 7 varieties of custom embroidered caps. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Felsen’s “Interstate 612″ and “Interstate 651″ shirts will go to the Hugo Tornado Relief Fund administered through the Hugo Long Term Recovery Services Center.

Also available at the 612 booth will be framed photographs, photo note cards, and photo key chains featuring popular Minnesota landmarks and attractions. All photography products are the work of well-known local photographer and author Gregg Felsen.
